The Glitch is a playful experiment that combines games, story, archives and immersive spaces to celebrate St. George’s past, present, and future. The purpose-built digital game, a first at an independent school, is a toe-dip in the Metaverse that playfully casts the school’s history and archives into the digital realm of 2031. Every game you play will contribute to the collective point pool and when the community hits 400,000, the gates to the virtual gallery will be unlocked! The Glitch: Where Past, Present, and Future Meet
In May 2031, a brilliant St. George’s student was experimenting in the new Quantum Physics Lab when he accidentally released a burst of quantum energy that caused a series of temporal dislocations. Its area of effect included the school archives where, unexplainably, it scrambled the timelines of images, people, and objects.
Fortunately, the young man who caused the accident designed state-of-the-art quantum reality goggles to help untangle the mess and restore order. Most of the timelines have been sorted, but there are still a few archival glitches left to be resolved. We have an ask: Will you join the community and help us fix the last few? It’s not hard, it won’t take long, and you’ll probably have fun. There’s something in it for you too: As a reward, we’ll give you access to our top-secret virtual Saints gallery. Hurry! Time is running out…
